Rotation/Shifts
Position may be located at either the Civic or General Campus.
Rotation - Various Shifts.
Minimum availability requirements: 2/3 weekends, 8 weeks during the period from June 1 to September 30, and five shifts between December 23 and January 3, inclusive of either Christmas Day, Boxing Day or December 31/New Year's Day.
What You Will Do
As a Patient Food Service Attendant, you will assemble, prepare, and portion meals, assist in the delivery of meals to patients, and provide dishwashing services. Responsibilities include:
- Set up work station at the beginning of every food service;
- Prepare and portion food and supplies for meal assembly according to set guidelines and menus;
- Assist in the delivery of food and service carts to the various nursing units;
- Provide excellent customer service;
- Clean and sanitize equipment, dishes, tables and serving areas.
As a Server, you will prepare, present and serve meals to patients, ensuring the quality of the food and overall presentation. Responsibilities include:
- Deliver meals to patients ensuring excellent customer service;
- Be accountable for ensuring the items provided are accurate and adhere to nourishment labels;
- Collect dishware from patient rooms and return them to the dish room for ware-washing;
- Maintain adequate supply stock and cleanliness of pantries.
What You Will Bring
- Grade 12 or equivalent;
- Valid Food Handlers certificate;
- Must be able to work on their feet at all times;
- Must be able to work without constant supervision;
- Eligible to work in Canada.
You will stand out with:
Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (intermediate level) and comprehension (intermediate level).
Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English speaking clients.
