Job description

What if your next clinical role wasn’t just about treating patients—but about helping shape the professionals who will care for them?

At Risio Institute for Digital Dental Education, we’re looking for an experienced Registered Dental Hygienist who wants to take their clinical experience beyond the operatory and into a role where teaching, mentorship, patient care, and relationships come together.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside an amazing team in a fun, supportive, and collaborative environment while getting to know and mentor students as they develop their clinical skills and confidence.

Why Join Risio Institute?

At Risio, we believe education should be both high-quality and enjoyable—for our students and our team.

As part of our clinical faculty, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Make a lasting impact by helping prepare the next generation of dental professionals.
  • Share your real-world clinical experience in a hands-on learning environment.
  • Build meaningful relationships with students and watch their skills and confidence grow.
  • Work with a passionate, supportive, and genuinely fun team.
  • Combine your clinical expertise with teaching, mentorship, and leadership.
  • Continue your own professional growth while helping others grow.
  • Enjoy a part-time role based on the needs of the business.

If you love clinical dentistry but also love people, teaching, and seeing others succeed, this may be the opportunity you've been looking for.

About the Role

As a Patient Care Supervising Hygienist / Clinical Instructor, you will play an important role in both patient care and student education within the Risio Institute Patient Care Clinic.

You’ll provide clinical oversight, mentorship, and instruction while helping students translate their education into real-world patient care.

  • Conduct limited patient examinations and review student Oral Care Assessments.
  • Prescribe appropriate treatment in collaboration with student findings.
  • Review assessment findings and treatment recommendations with students and patients.
  • Review radiographs with patients when appropriate.
  • Refer patients to external dental offices or specialists when required.`
  • Evaluate specific student clinical skills as requested by the Clinical Coordinator.
  • Supervise patient care sessions and support efficient clinical flow.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students and faculty.
  • Ensure infection control, asepsis, safety, and clinical protocols are consistently followed.
  • Help maintain a professional, respectful, and positive clinical environment.
Clinical Instructor Responsibilities
  • Communicate clinical module expectations and skill requirements to students.
  • Oversee the flow of students, faculty, and patients throughout clinical sessions.
  • Provide hands‑on guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Evaluate and document student clinical skills and submit assessments to the Clinical Coordinator.
  • Model and reinforce proper asepsis and clinical protocols.
  • Monitor clinical supplies and communicate inventory needs.
  • Assist with student module debriefs and provide constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to an engaging, supportive, and professional learning environment.
