This management position is a key leadership role in patient care services and reports directly to the Director, RDRHC/Zone Program Lead Surgery and MDRD. The Patient Care Manager, RDRHC is responsible for the RDRHC surgical care team and all aspects of care delivery within Surgical Services. This role is responsible for providing leadership through effective communication, ethical decision making and commitment to achieving established goals and objectives. Ensures outcome measurements and standards are met. As a member of the management team, you will be involved in the formulation, development and administration of policy and programs supporting patient-focused care and service delivery at RDRHC.

Description:

The Patient Care Manager is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership, and organization over the activities of Surgical Services and related administrative operations in support of the vision, mission, and business plan of Alberta Health Services. These activities will also include the integration of various resources to carry out these activities. The position is also responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of Surgical Services. The Patient Care Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective framework for the operations of Surgical Services to facilitate the delivery of efficient, effective, and safe patient care. The Patient Care Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to provide leadership to Surgical Services.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in a direct patient care environment within the previous 5 years.
• Ability to complete qualitative and quantitative analysis of workload, budget, and patient services.
