Job Description

The Patient Care Assistant assists with the provision of clinical support care to patients under the direction of a regulated health care provider.Contribute to safe, quality care by:

• Managing a workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Addressing and resolving issues in a productive, respectful manner.
• Exercising sound professional judgment and using best practice guidelines.
• Contributing to a safe, inclusive environment for all through compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures.

What must you have?

• Completion of a recognized program for personal support worker.
• One-year experience in a healthcare environment.
• Current certificate of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire date.
• Previous hospital experience working as a Patient Care Assistant in a long-term care setting.
• Experience working with elderly and cognitively impaired patients.
