Job summary

IWK Health is seeking a Registration/Scheduling Clerk in Halifax for a temporary hourly long-assignment through 12/29/2027. Responsibilities include accurate patient registration in Meditech, scheduling clinics, handling forms, and liaising with multiple departments.

Weekend/evening availability may be required, with 7-hour shifts. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and preference for a secretarial program or related experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Secretarial or business program is an asset.
• Previous related experience preferred.
• Accurate keyboarding and data entry required.
• Strong organizational, analytical, time management, and communication skills also required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• French language skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately in Meditech.
• Schedule physician clinics as requested or discretionary.
• Process health forms and consents as required.
• Liaise with departments and handle messages via phone/fax.
• Maintain charts, scanning, and archiving.
• Train new staff as required.
• Ensure supplies and assist with quality checks.
