Job summary

Southlake Health in Newmarket (ON) seeks a Laboratory Pathology Technologist for a temporary, full-time role. You will accession and process surgical, cytology and flow cytometry specimens, perform equipment maintenance, and support training for staff and students in a collaborative, quality-driven lab.

MLPAO or CSMLS certification is required; hospital laboratory experience and familiarity with accreditation are assets.

Qualifications

• MLPAO certification required or CSMLS certification
• Experience in a hospital pathology laboratory is preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform accessioning and processing of surgical, cytology, and flow cytometry specimens in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Empty and discard pathology specimens and waste at designated areas.
• Perform equipment maintenance and inventory activities.
• Provide training and support to team members, including staff and students.
• Perform quality control activities.
• Promote a positive and collaborative work environment that fosters teamwork, engagement, and high morale.
