Job description

Our growing team is seeking full-time General Pathologists to join Kamloops Pathology Associates Ltd. We are based at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, and primarily provide Anatomical and Clinical Pathology Services within the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap Health Service Area of the Interior Health Laboratory System.

The successful candidate(s) will be joining an onsite collegial group of ten other laboratory physicians (nine general/anatomical and one medical microbiologist) reporting to the Area Laboratory Medical Director/Department Head. We can provide strong mentorship for a new graduate.

Duties will include:

  1. Participation in general surgical/autopsy pathology
  2. Hematopathology (including transfusion medicine)
  3. Non-gynecological cytology
  4. Medical biochemistry
  5. Equal participation in the departmental on-call rota
  6. Committee work
  7. Some limited regional lab oversight

The site is closely linked to the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine, so teaching residents and medical students is also possible.

For those interested, Leadership Development Opportunities are available with Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program. The NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program is a comprehensive leadership development program designed specifically for physicians to address the practical leadership knowledge, behaviours and skills that high potential, emerging medical leaders require to step into leadership roles early in their careers.
