Job Description

The Pastry Cook will create unique offerings for our guests. The candidate will assist in maintaining Oliver & Bonacini pastry standards and will help produce a focused dessert program including pastries, desserts, and confections.

The Day to Day:

  • Assist in the daily activities of the pastry kitchen team
  • Lead by example as a hands-on Pastry Cook, ensuring quality and consistency of all products served
  • Ensure all food is prepared to the standards set by the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine
  • Control food costs by maintaining accurate records of pastry ingredients
  • Record, calculate, and update recipes and costs regularly
  • Minimize food waste
  • Follow operating procedures and address organizational issues impacting efficiency
  • Adhere to health, safety, and cleanliness standards, correcting deficiencies
  • Handle special requests and allergies to ensure guest satisfaction and safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of progressive pastry experience
  • Knowledge of current trends in presentation and preparation
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team
  • Culinary degree/diploma is an asset
  • Food Handlers & First Aid certifications are assets
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift
