Oakridge Christian Ministry (OCM) of the Vancouver Chinese Presbyterian Church (VCPC)

Oakridge Christian Ministry is an English-speaking Christian worshipping congregation committed to serving its neighbours in the heart of Oakridge, Vancouver. As a ministry of the Vancouver Chinese Presbyterian Church, we strive to embody Christ’s love through mutual support, shared worship, and community engagement.

We’re seeking a passionate Pastoral Care and Outreach Coordinator to join our team. This role is crucial for developing and coordinating our pastoral care initiatives, actively engaging with our community, enhancing our digital presence, and intentionally setting people up for future success. We’re looking for someone dedicated to glorifying God through their work, who thrives in both independent and collaborative settings, and values open communication. Familiarity with the Presbyterian Church in Canada’s practices is an asset, but a willingness to learn and grow is essential.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and coordinating pastoral care programs.
• Fostering Spiritual growth and connections within the OCM community.
• Engaging and overseeing volunteers for various ministry activities.
• Building relationships with local community groups for outreach.
• Supporting the wider church ( VCPC) events and ministries as assigned.
• Attending OCM Sunday worship services (currently 9:30 am).
• Developing and overseeing our digital media ministry, including website and social media.
• Supervising and training the Social Media Manager.
• Providing ministry support to the Office Administrator.
• Preaching a minimum of one Sunday per month at OCM.

This position is a full-time, 40-hour per week commitment Sunday to Thursday, with anticipated in-person office hours Monday to Thursday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. We are also open to considering a part-time arrangement depending on the candidate. The compensation for full-time is $75,000 per year, including benefits and vacation.
We are looking to hire as soon as possible and will commence interviews before the deadline if appropriate candidates apply. If possible, we would like a candidate to be able to train with the current PCOC before they leave June 15th, 2025.
