Job summary

Western Tractor Company Inc. is seeking a dedicated Parts Technician to join our team in Alberta. You will assist customers at the parts counter, read diagnostics, and locate the correct items using our inventory systems.

The role emphasizes accurate parts identification, efficient service, and clear communication with customers. You will also handle special orders, support merchandising efforts, and promote dealership promotions while maintaining a welcoming store environment.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Parts Technician designation or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years in a Parts department; John Deere experience is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with customers and a professional image.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers at the parts counter by understanding their needs and locating the correct parts.
  • Read and interpret parts diagnostics, diagrams, and technical drawings for precise orders.
  • Navigate computerized inventory systems and parts libraries to locate parts.
  • Follow up on special orders and inform customers once parts arrive.
  • Help create and maintain merchandising displays to showcase parts and promotions.
  • Promote dealership specials and campaigns to boost sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure every customer feels valued and a welcoming atmosphere.

Western Tractor started from the merger of 2 different John Deere Dealerships with a total of 4 stores that have had a long history as dealerships serving Southern Alberta. Our locations have been some of Canada's longest continual dealership locations in the John Deere dealer network.

Customer Service Excellence: Assist customers at theparts counter by understanding their needs and efficientlylocating the correct parts to get them back up and running.

Master Diagnostics: Read and interpret partsdiagnostics, diagrams, and technical drawings to ensure precisionin every order.

Utilize Technology: Navigate computerizedinventory systems and parts libraries to track down the perfect part.

Handle Special Orders: Follow up on specialorders and keep customers informed as soon as their parts arrive.

Merchandising Support: Help create and maintaineye-catching merchandising displays that showcase our parts and promotions.

Promote Our Specials: Actively promotedealership specials and merchandising campaigns, boosting salesand customer satisfaction.

Customer Satisfaction: Ensure every customerfeels valued and appreciated, creating a welcoming atmosphere atall times.

Requirements

Education: Journeyperson PartsTechnician designation or equivalent experience.

Experience: A minimum of 2years' experience within a Parts department. Previous JohnDeere agricultural equipment and product experience is an asset.

People-Focused: Stronginterpersonal skills with experienceconnecting with customers whilemaintaining a professional image andestablishing rapport.

Soft Skills: Strong t imemanagement skills, ability to beadaptable, problem-solvingskills, and attention to detail.

Physical Capability: Ability to lift,carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs with long periods ofstanding and walking.

Valid Driver's License: You'll need thisfor parts deliveries.

Training and Development: We keep our team current byinvesting twice as much in training as any other John Deere dealerin Southern Alberta both inside and outside of our dealership.
