Job description

The Opportunity

As a key member of the Wajax team, the Parts & Service Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service to support service and parts sales, ensuring repeat business by assisting at the front counter, order desk, warehouse, and back counter, as well as supporting the Service Department with administrative duties.

The Role

  • Build and maintain strong customer relations, including greeting customers, handling inquiries, providing price quotes, and selling parts.
  • Prepare and process documentation for purchases, returns, warranty coverage, and other tasks as required.
  • Respond to customers in person, via telephone, or electronically in a timely and courteous manner, demonstrating strong service and sales skills on the phone order desk and front counter.
  • Assist warehouse personnel in shipping products to local and out-of-town customers using appropriate shipping methods.
  • Support the parts needs of the shop to meet work orders by looking up and billing parts, reviewing work orders for accuracy, and modifying as needed.
  • Pick stock for customers as required; receive and input stock using electronic systems.
  • Produce accurate, timely documentation of all transactions within the parts team.
  • Handle daily shipping and receiving, emergency orders, stock orders, and inter-branch transfers.
  • Process and issue various invoices, purchase orders, and warranty claims; track and report on department attendance; assist with payroll and bookkeeping responsibilities.

The Candidate

  • Previous parts experience is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with others.
  • A valid Driver’s License.
