Job summary

Alberta AG Centre in Olds, AB, is seeking a Parts Manager to lead the parts department. You will oversee counter sales, inventory, purchasing, warehouse operations, and staff supervision, while coordinating with service and sales teams to ensure timely parts availability for work orders.

The role includes on-site responsibilities with up to 25% travel, full benefits, laptop, and cell phone provided. Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with on-call Saturdays; overtime in peak season May–October.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in an agricultural parts and/or service environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of agricultural parts/equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work with customers and teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and parts research tools; CDK IntelliDealer a plus.

Job description

Full-time, Mon-Fri 8am-5pm w/ 1-hour unpaid lunch
Saturday (on call); seasonal overtime (May through October)

Role Overview

Reporting to the Director of After Sales, the Parts Manager will lead the parts department at our Olds location. This role oversees in-store counter sales, inventory, purchasing, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, and the supervision of parts and warehouse staff.

Core Responsibilities
Customer Service & Parts Support
  • Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers by identifying parts needs, answering inquiries, preparing quotes, and processing orders in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with Service, Sales, Shipping/Receiving, suppliers, and customers to ensure parts are available and allocated to work orders as needed.
Inventory & Procurement Management
  • Research parts availability, source products through catalogues, systems, suppliers, or other locations, and coordinate delivery or pickup when required.
  • Manage purchasing, receiving, purchase orders, receipts of goods, inventory updates, stock put-away, and daily cash balancing.
  • Track stock levels, participate in cycle counts, maintain accurate records, and support timely reporting and paperwork.
Leadership & Team Development

Supervise and support parts counter, technician, and warehouse staff, providing backup support as required.

Operational Excellence
  • Maintain a clean, organized parts counter and warehouse area
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
  • Adhere to and promote company values, policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance.
  • Stand or walk for 8+ hours; ability to bend, kneel, squat, reach, twist, and use ladders or stairs
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
  • Comfortable in a warehouse setting wearing PPE
Competencies & Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in an agricultural parts and/or service environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and previous exposure to agricultural parts, equipment, and related documents.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, parts research tools, technical information systems; PIM, and CDK IntelliDealer experience considered an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, team members, suppliers, and other departments.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage time effectively while maintaining accurate records, reports, forms, time, and materials.
  • Positive team attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts readily to evolving role-related priorities and responsibilities beyond those outlined in this profile.
  • Valid driver’s license required; forklift experience considered an asset.
