The Parts Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining and growing parts sales, overall customer service and maintaining effective and efficient parts operations.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive and communicative environment
  • Manage and maintain adequate department personnel
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with Work Safe BC Policies
  • Monitor the department's financial performance and set goals to increase sales and profitability
  • Schedule shifts to provide a high level of customer service for all open business hours
  • Hold monthly meetings with parts department personnel to keep employees up to date with all bulletins, programs and department changes
  • Ensure that all department staff receive and participate in training as required and maintain department records for each employee
  • Monitor the technical support materials available for the department and adjust as required (e.g., parts manuals, ECAT, etc.)
  • Maintain the parts room as per Paccar guidelines for signage and merchandising, price parts and retail display
  • Develop and market monthly parts and service specials
  • Monitor market trends and adjust pricing as required to stay competitive
  • Meet weekly with outside sales staff, targeting potential new customers
  • Monitor parts and core inventory and adjust levels as sales dictate
  • Facilitate proper training of employees and ensure training is up-to-date
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5 years or more managerial experience in parts retail
  • Completion of post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree is an asset
  • Strong mathematical and financial analysis skills
  • Strong understanding of the parts industry
  • Thorough knowledge of customer service dynamics and processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Focus on efficiency – looks to accomplish the most with available time and resources
  • Ability to anticipate and deal with future problems and opportunities
  • Strong personal organizational skills as they relate to workload, time management and setting priorities in an unsupervised environment
  • Effective problem solving and negotiating skills

Compensation Rate

  • $97,000 - $107,000 annually + variable compensation
