Job description
Overview

Part-time Regular position in Vancouver, BC (YVR).

Join WestJet and contribute to a 24/7, 365 day operation supporting Technical Operations as a Parts Driver. Reporting to the Materials Manager, you will transport parts, tools, and materials to aircraft technicians, support inventory, and help ensure on-time performance in a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Line Maintenance team by transporting parts, tools, and materials to the aircraft technicians at aircraft locations.
  • Perform parts transactions in the Company Maintenance Tracking System (CMTS).
  • Maintain inventory levels and organization of all parts stocked (parts runner vehicle, ramp locations) including regular review of min/max levels and requesting adjustments.
  • Monitor picklists submitted by production at their assigned base.
  • Maintain efficient and effective communication with production, Stores, Planning, and MCC as required to protect on-time performance.
  • Participate in and document safety, facility, quality control, and environmental hazards and implement corrective actions as approved by the Materials Manager, Sr Manager, Line Maintenance or designate.
  • Carry out pre-use inspections and document any issues with all vehicles and equipment used to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Support the Materials Team with the movement of parts, tooling, and unserviceable equipment between hangar and ramp locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a similar environment
  • Must hold and maintain a valid Driver’s License and have a clean driver’s abstract
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transport Canada Security Clearance within 6 months of start date
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Vehicle Operator’s License within 6 months of start date
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively and meet physical demands of an environment with walking, climbing, lifting and bending
  • Must be able to obtain Company Forklift certification
  • Must be able to work shift work – including night shifts, statutory holidays, and weekends; responsible for supporting a 24/7, 365 day operation
