Job description

The Parts and Fuel Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Lead Hand in daily harvesting operations at our sites across Colchester, Cumberland, and Pictou Counties. The role involves occasional travel to HRM, Digby, Cape Breton, and Southern New Brunswick, with regular travel to our Woodlands District Office in Truro, Nova Scotia. This is an entry-level position with growth potential into a Lead Hand role for the right candidate.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $22.70/hr + Mileage

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma; technical training in automotive/heavy equipment mechanics is preferred
  • Experience with mechanized forestry equipment is an asset
  • Mechanical aptitude is required
  • Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract is required
  • Ability to work day and night shifts, with some on-call availability
  • Willingness to work some weekends
  • Willingness to travel between multiple job sites during the day

Responsibilities include:

  • Fuel delivery to equipment on harvesting sites
  • Parts pickup from vendors and delivery to sites
  • General maintenance to ensure equipment utilization
  • Reporting EMS incidents to Leadership
  • Maintaining site cleanliness by removing waste and consumables
  • Completing and submitting personal safety records
  • Assisting in weekly machine calibration
  • Supporting regular preventative maintenance
  • Ensuring fuel trailer is stocked and fuel is available
  • Assisting with pit stop procedures during machine downtime
