Part Time Temporary Educational Assistant

Horace Allen School in Coleman, Alberta is seeking to employ the very best school-based staff in Alberta! Horace Allen School requires a (30 hrs/week) Educational Assistant for Kindergarten. This position will commence as soon as a successful candidate is found and will end April 10, 2025, or upon the return of the absent employee. Under the direction of the classroom teacher, Learning Support, and Administrative teams, the successful candidate will provide one-on-one, small group, and class-wide student support in inclusive classroom settings.

Required qualifications include the following:

• Experience working in an inclusive setting
• Demonstrates an ability to build relationships with students who require patience and flexibility with programming
• Demonstrates an understanding of self-regulation and has experience utilizing self-regulation tools with students
• Ability to work collaboratively with the School Support Team and outside agencies
• Ability to work independently to follow goals and implement strategies as determined by the school team and service providers, along with data collection as required
• Certification from an accredited Teaching Assistant Program or equivalent is an asset
• SIVA training/certification is an asset

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
