Job summary

Dollar Tree Canada is seeking a Part-time Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, organize inventory, and help train Store Associates while upholding safety and policy standards.

The role requires strong communication and customer service skills, with a high-energy, team-focused environment. Starting pay is $17.85 per hour for part-time work at the Cobourg location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as part of daily duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store activity communications.
• Maintain promotional store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handling damaged items, and payroll/scheduling records.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and lead by example with staff.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and team.
