Qualifications

• 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a North American university or college.
• CPA designation pursuit required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with tax filings and a solid understanding of the CRA Tax Code.
• Experience with accounting and income tax software.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Tech-savvy, proactive approach to accounting and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple clients.
• Record and categorize transactions using QuickBooks Online and other accounting software.
• Complete bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage and review AP and AR records.
• Assist with payroll entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare GST/HST bookkeeping records and supporting documentation.
• Prepare month-end and year-end files, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Identify discrepancies and follow up with clients to resolve outstanding items.
• Communicate directly with clients to obtain missing information.
• Support bookkeeping clean-up and catch-up engagements.
• Leverage technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
