Job summary

Manning Park Resort, Inc. in British Columbia seeks a part-time Snow School Instructor to join the Snow School team. You will teach guests of all ages and abilities to ski or snowboard, in group or one-on-one settings, while contributing to a vibrant mountain-resort experience.

We offer staff housing, on-site accommodation when teaching consecutive days, and benefits including free rentals and lessons, plus store and restaurant discounts and family tickets based on years of service.

Qualifications

• Ski/snowboard instructor certification Level 1+ or higher is preferred.
• Willingness to participate in Manning Park in-house training.
• Minimum intermediate ski/snowboard ability.
• Knowledge of the Alpine Responsibility Code.
• Own equipment is required.
• Previous knowledge of the ski area is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and coach guests of all ages and abilities to ski or snowboard in group or one-on-one settings.
• Assess students for their ability and place them in appropriate groups.
• Set up and take down lesson equipment.
• Adherence to the Alpine Responsibility Code.
• Help with distributing pre-set rentals for school groups.

We are presently searching for our next great part-time team member as a Snow School Instructor to join our Snow School team. If you can provide our guests with an amazing experience, combined with working as an energetic part of our resort, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities include: (but not limited to)

• Instruct and coach guests of all ages and abilities to ski or snowboard in a group or one-on-one setting.
• Properly assess students for their ability and place them in the appropriate groups.
• Set up and take down lesson equipment.
• Adherence and teaching of the Alpine Responsibility Code
• Helping with distributing pre-set rentals for school groups.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

• Minimum level 1 or higher of Canadian-recognized Ski or Snowboard Instructor Certification is considered an asset. (Courses offered at Manning Park throughout the season)
• Willingness and availability to participate in the MPR in-house Snowsports introduction training course If you do not have a Canadian recognized Ski or Snowboard Instructor Certification.
• Dual certification is an asset.
• A minimum of intermediate ski/snowboard ability
• Knowledge of the Alpine Responsibility Code
• Strong customer service skills
• Must have your own equipment
• Previous knowledge of the ski area is an asset
