Job description

Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Security, this position is responsible for the safety and protection of team members, guests, the facility (both internal and external), and the company's assets. The role contributes to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members, ensuring adherence to the company's policies and procedures, and supporting Great Canadian's learning environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor, document, and prepare reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons or activities.
  • Enforce restricted access by unauthorized persons.
  • Escort cash and cash equivalents.
  • Tag and report found property; transfer items to Lost and Found.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the facility as directed.
  • Escort guests and team members as directed.
  • Refer disputes to the Supervisor, Security.
  • Communicate effectively with all relevant operational departments.
  • Build strong working relationships with guests and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Education and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience.
  • Food Safety Certificate.
  • Guard Force Training (asset).
  • Occupational First Aid Level 2 Certificate (asset).
  • Willingness to recertify every 3 years for Use of Force Certification.
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required.

Work Environment Considerations

  • Work within a 24/7 operation with the ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to the organization.
