Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Part-Time Security Guard at Loyalist College Belleville. You will patrol the campus, enforce college regulations, respond to incidents, and provide a visible security presence.

Required: Ontario Security License, First Aid & CPR Level C, English fluency, ability to attend Kingston training, and authorization to work in Canada. Paladin offers training, uniforms, license reimbursement, dry cleaning & hemming/tailoring allowance, and daily pay options.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security License.
• First Aid & CPR - Level C.
• English fluency (oral and written).
• French fluency is considered an asset.
• Authorized to legally work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Enforce Loyalist College regulations.
• Patrol campus consistently on a proactive & reactive basis.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies.
• Complete reports as required by site and Paladin.
• Assist students, visitors, and staff whenever possible.
• Engage with and deter smokers on the property.
• Verbal de-escalation of incidents.
• Provide a visible and reliable security presence.
• Report to site supervisor; perform independent tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position: Part-Time Security Guard - Loyalist College Belleville

Payrate: $18.91/hour

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) over 88 hours

Job Description:

• Enforce the regulations of Loyalist College
• Patrol campus consistently on a proactive & reactive basis
• Respond to incidents and emergency situations
• Complete reports as required by site and Paladin
• Find and assist students, visitors, and staff whenever possible
• Engage with and deter smokers on the property
• Verbal de-escalation of incidents
• Provide a visible and reliable security presence
• This position reports to the site supervisor, and performs independent, self-directed tasks
• Additional duties as assigned

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• Cannot be actively enrolled at Loyalist College
• Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination
• English (oral and written) fluency
• French (oral and written) fluency is considered an asset
• Previous experience in security, by-law, parking enforcement - considered an asset
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position but must commute to Kingston for 2 days of in-class training
• Please be aware: The certification training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
• Must be able to attend 2 days of in-class training in Kingston
• Authorized to legally work in Canada
