Qualifications

Position: Part-Time Security Guard
Site: 350 City Hall Square West, Windsor

Hours: Saturday and Sunday (12:00AM-12:00PM)
Payrate: $18.00

Overtime: ESA
Internal Posting Date: September 16th, 2025
Internal Closing Date: September 22nd, 2025
External Closing Date: October 10th, 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be able to comprehend and demonstrate competencies of City of Windsor and the Security policies and procedures with an ability to use a customer service approach
  • Be able to keep an open and objective mind, remembering the city’s diverse community.
  • Assist visitors, and employee during crisis and contact the necessary emergency services as needed
  • Ensure that the property is safe by ensuring all security measures are functioning properly
  • Enthusiastically conducts proactive patrols (exterior and Interior), and be able to address policy breeches, and note facility concerns.
  • Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner as not to create a panic amongst the public
  • Ability to de-escalate a crisis, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including; police, fire and paramedic resources.
  • Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries
  • Ability to provide first aid and medical response when required to any person
  • Maintain positive and constructive relationships with The Client’s staff and external clients by providing timely and accurate support as required.
  • Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Security Leadership team and respond to the directions of the client; City of Windsor
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by the city

Prerequisites:

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
