Job summary

Pet Valu in Oakville, Ontario is seeking a Sales Associate to help Pet Parents find the right nutrition and supplies for their pets. You will be part of a team of Pet Experts dedicated to delivering friendly service and product knowledge every day.

This role offers opportunities to learn about pet care, work with a knowledgeable team, and provide outstanding customer experiences while handling cashier duties, merchandise stock, and store upkeep in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of POS systems.
• Outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Cashier and customer sales.
• Preparing merchandise orders, banking and other miscellaneous paperwork.
• Placing small items (under 10 lbs) into stock in the sales area of the store.
• Sweeping, dusting and other general store maintenance functions.
• Assist in unloading delivery vehicles of cases and bags of pet food and supplies and putting these into stock (items up to 50 lbs.).
• Other duties and tasks as required.
