Job summary

Pet Valu is seeking a Sales Associate in Markham, Ontario to help Pet Parents pick the right nutrition and products for their pets. You will join a team of Pet Experts and contribute to in-store customer service, stocking, and smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities include cashiering, helping with orders and banking, stocking shelves, cleaning, unloading deliveries, and ensuring items are stocked and accessible. Weekend/evening availability and reliable transport are expected.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of POS system.
• Outgoing and friendly with strong customer service.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable transportation and weekend/evening availability.

Responsibilities

• Cashier and customer sales.
• Preparing merchandise orders, banking and other miscellaneous paperwork.
• Placing small items (under 10 lbs) into stock in the sales area of the store.
• Sweeping, dusting and other general store maintenance functions.
• Assist in unloading delivery vehicles of cases and bags of pet food and supplies and placing these into stock (items up to 50 lbs).
• Other duties and tasks as required

What you do

What you bring

• Working knowledge of POS system
• Possess outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills
• Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively
• Ability to work as scheduled to meet attendance requirements, which may include weekends and evenings
• Ability to have reliable means of transportation to and from the store
