Job summary

AgeCare Ltd. in Medicine Hat, AB, is seeking a casual Occupational Therapy Aide to support resident care in a long-term care setting. You will assist in assessments, planning, and implementation of therapy programs under supervision, ensuring documentation and progress updates are maintained.

The role emphasizes empathy, strong communication, and teamwork within an interdisciplinary care team, with a flexible part-time schedule at our Riverview location.

Qualifications

• Must have good standing with provincial regulatory board.
• Academic degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
• Strong communication with residents, families and staff.
• Experience in continuing care/gerontology preferred.
• Demonstrated empathy and patient-centred approach.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents upon admission and regularly thereafter.
• Assist in developing and communicating treatment plans.
• Implement and monitor therapy programs with residents.
• Document progress and participate in care conferences.
• Support interdisciplinary team with therapeutic goals.
• Comply with legal licensure and ethics requirements.
