St. Matthew’s Elementary School in Surrey, BC, is seeking a part-time Music Teacher to deliver BC Curriculum music instruction (Kindergarten–Grade 7) using the Orff method and to direct a school/parish choir for performances.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree or teaching credential in music education, possess strong classroom management and collaboration skills, and contribute to a faith-based, innovative learning environment.

Qualifications

• Have a degree or certification in music education and a teaching credential.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver BC Curriculum music instruction for K–7.

Responsabilités

• Plan and teach music lessons for Kindergarten through Grade 7.
• Provide instruction in singing, rhythm, movement, music literacy, listening, composition, and performance.
• Use the Orff approach to develop students’ musical understanding and creativity.
• Direct a performance choir for parish and school events.
• Prepare students for concerts and liturgies and assess progress.
