Overview

St. Philip on-the-hill (SPOTH) is a warm, diverse and welcoming Anglican church located in Unionville, Ontario. We have a joyful, traditional Anglican worship service on Sunday mornings using contemporary language with choir-led singing that is live-streamed. A Minister of Music is being sought by SPOTH, to provide Christian leadership in an engaging ministry of music, sensitive to the Anglican tradition.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, play for, and conduct Sunday Services.
  • Nurture and develop musical talent within the congregation.
  • Musically support our two youth drama and music groups.
  • Direct our Adult Choir.
Qualifications
  • Music degree with strong organ and piano skills.
  • Experience conducting choirs and providing sound leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Anglican liturgy is preferable; training is available.
  • Ability to work with all age groups.
  • Living locally within driving distance to SPOTH.
Facilities

The church has a 3 manual, 40-stop digital Phoenix organ (2010) and a Heintzman 7-foot Grand Piano.

Compensation and Schedule

Hours are flexible, between 12 and 15 hours a week. Salary negotiable depending on experience.
