Job summary

Middlesex Hospital Alliance in Canada is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform routine laboratory procedures in Core Lab and Transfusion Medicine. The position requires current registration or eligibility with the CMLTO and compliance with vaccination and TB testing requirements.

Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and STAT holidays is essential, with shifts of 7.5 or 11.25 hours. New graduates are welcome to apply and contribute to a dedicated healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Medical Laboratory Technology program from an accredited post-secondary institution. New graduates encouraged to apply.
• Must provide vaccination records against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella and proof of two COVID-19 vaccinations.
• Must have documentation of TB skin testing within the previous 12 months.
• Current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
• Ability to assess concurrent demands, prioritize, organize workload and maintain accuracy in a busy environment.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and professionalism.
• Demonstrated reliability in attendance and performance.

Rate of Pay: $38.799 – $52.915

Job Duties:

• Available for all shifts (7.5h, 11.25h) including days, nights, weekends, and STAT holidays
• Perform all routine technical and medical laboratory procedures in Core Lab and Transfusion Medicine.

Job Qualifications:

• Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and documented proof of two COVID 19 vaccinations
• Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 12 months
• Must have successfully completed a program in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Current registration (or eligible for registration) in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
• Ability to assess concurrent demands, prioritize, organize workload and maintain accuracy in a busy environment
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate a high level of initiative, accountability and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills and professionalism
• Strong team player that promotes a positive attitude within the organization
