Job summary

WestUrban Developments Ltd. in Kelowna, BC is seeking a Part Time Maintenance Technician for a multi-family residential building. You will handle basic repairs, upkeep, and preventative maintenance to keep units comfortable and safe.

Ideal candidates have some experience in property management or construction, can lift/move materials, work well independently or as part of a team, and approach problems with a practical mindset. The role offers an hourly wage of 26.00–30.00 CAD.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in property management and/or construction would be an asset.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and climbing ladders.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and results-oriented approach.
• Creative problem solving and adaptability to challenges.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Paint, drywall patching, mudding, and taping.
• Detect faulty operations, defective materials, and report deficiencies.
• Maintain building exterior including basic ground maintenance.
• Repair windows, blinds, doors, switches, plugs, appliances, fixtures, and carpet tiles.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing, heating, and electrical problems.

What you will be doing:

• Painting, drywall patching, mudding, and taping;

• Maintain building exterior including basic ground maintenance;
• Perform repairs to windows, blinds, doors, switches, plugs, appliances, fixtures, and carpet tile replacement;
• Diagnosis and repair plumbing, heating, and electrical problems.

What you need to bring:

• Two years of experience in the property management and/or construction industry would be an asset;
• Ability to use physical exertion that includes lifting, carrying, climbing ladders and moving materials;
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a results-oriented approach;
• Ability to think creatively when problem solving, proactively adapting to challenges;
• Ability to work well independently;
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships and to work well in a team environment.
