Newbridge Academy in South Surrey is seeking an enthusiastic Grade 8–9 Science Teacher for the upcoming school year. This small bilingual independent school in South Surrey offers supportive learning environments and hands-on inquiry-based science aligned with the British Columbia curriculum.

The role is 9 hours per week, scheduled 8:30–11:30 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with compensation at $30–35 per hour. Start date is September 2026.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching qualification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of middle school science and the British Columbia curriculum.
• Experience teaching Grades 8–9 or middle school science is an asset.
• Creative, organized, and student-centred approach to teaching.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Eligibility to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Teach Science to a combined Grade 8–9 class following the British Columbia curriculum.
• Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that foster scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs of students.
• Assess student progress, write report card comments, and communicate regularly with parents regarding student learning and development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and student success.
