Job summary

Oxford Learning Edmonton North Glenora is seeking part-time Teacher-Tutors for Elementary and High School students. You will teach reading, writing, math, and French for Elementary and calculus, physics, chemistry, biology, and English for High School.

Lessons are pre-planned and you will receive full training in our methods. Role is in-person with after-school/evening hours (4:00 pm - 8:00 pm) and a commitment through June 30, with possible summer continuation.

Qualifications

  • Strong English written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
  • Experience teaching or tutoring Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent).
  • French language ability is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to 3 students at a time in Elementary or up to 2 students in Grades 9-12.
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
  • Complete daily student communication updates and monthly progress reports.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor and create a fun learning environment.

Our hours count! Gain valuable teaching experience!Oxford Learning Edmonton North Glenora is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for roles in our learning centre for theupcoming school year. If you love working with students, enjoy teaching, and want to help others build their academic confidence, this position is perfect for you.

Position Overview: As a Teacher-Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will have the opportunity to work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math and French and/or withHigh Schoolstudents inmath (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English. Our Teacher-Tutors do not have to worry about lesson planning, as all lessons are pre-planned. You will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods, allowing you to focus on what you do best – teaching!

Position Requirements

  • Availability during after-school and evening hours (4:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
  • Commitmentthrough tothe end of the school year (June 30th), with thepossibilityofcontinuing through the summer if you like!

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have some of the following requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Third-year university students with tutoring experience will be considered
  • Working towards or having a teaching certification is an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum

Experience:

  • Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • The ability to teach French is also highly desired
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

As an Interactive Coach, you will:

  • Teach up to 3 students at a time
  • (Teach up to 3 students at a time in Elementary grades or up to 2 students at a time in Grades9 - 12)
  • Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Complete daily student communication updates and monthly progress reports
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanour at all times (create a fun learning environment)

Job Type : Part-time with the option to go full-time~

Salary : $17/ hour BUT goes up to $18 / hour once you complete all the training!

Schedule:

  • Evenings
  • Monday to Friday
  • Saturdays and Sundays availability
