Oxford Learning Centres Inc. in Mississauga Meadowvale is seeking a part-time French teacher/tutor to help students stay engaged and progress in language skills after school.

You will teach up to three students at varying levels at Oxford Learning Meadowvale, with evening and weekend hours in person. Fluency in French and English is required, with a Bachelor’s degree in progress and teaching certification considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Fluent in French and English; able to teach up to Grade 9.
• Experience teaching/tutoring French is preferred.

• In-person role; commuting to Meadowvale location required.

Overview

French Teacher/Tutor Wanted Eager to help students turn “Je ne sais pas” into “Oh la la”? Motivated to help support children’s French education outside of the classroom? Our hours count! Gain valuable teaching experience!

Position Requirements

All Teacher‑Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after‑school and evening hours (4:00pm - 8:00pm) as well as Saturdays (9:00am - 1:00pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Candidates must possess a strong background in spoken and written French and English and be comfortable teaching up to a Grade 9 level, but up to Grade 12 is preferred. The candidate is required to instruct class sessions in French. This role is in‑person. You must be able to commute to this location. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the Ontario French Curriculum

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring French
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
