Overview

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic French speaker to join Oxford Learning Burquitlam as a part‑time French and Math tutor/coach. This role provides teaching experience and small‑group instruction in a supportive environment.

Key Details

• Employment Type: Part‑time
• Pay: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour
• Location: Burquitlam/Coquitlam, BC (in‑person only)
• Schedule: After‑school (3:00 pm–8:00 pm), evenings, some Saturday (9:00 am–3:00 pm). Commitment until end of school year preferred; summer possible.

Position Requirements

• Strong background in spoken and written French and English.
• Ability to teach in French up to Grade 12 (Grade 9 preferred).
• Must conduct lessons in French.
• Commuter to Burquitlam/Coquitlam area; no relocation packages.
• Requires Vulnerable Sector screening.
• Responsible for up to 3 students per session.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in relevant field.
• Fourth‑year university students with tutoring experience considered.
• Teaching certification is an asset.
• Good knowledge of current Grades 9‑12 French core curriculum.
• Experience teaching/tutoring French Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent).
• Strong English written and oral communication skills.
• Strong French skills and ability to guide student understanding.
• Ability to multitask with up to three students.
