Job summary

A supplemental education provider is seeking a Part-Time French & High School Math/Science Teacher in Toronto, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, tutoring experience in French and high school math/science, and strong communication skills. This role requires teaching up to 3 students at different levels, both online and in-person. A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Some experience teaching/tutoring French, math and science at a Grade 9-12 or equivalent level.
• Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math and science curriculum.
• Fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Gain valuable teaching experience at Oxford Learning Scarborough Kingston & Sheppard. This role is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Teacher‑Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All Teacher‑Tutors work during after‑school and evening hours (4:00pm–8:00pm) as well as some Saturdays (10:00am–3:00pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better. The role is in‑person; you must be able to commute to this location. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
• Teaching certification is an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, especially senior math (Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus) and vectors, physics, chemistry, & biology.
• Experience: Some experience teaching/tutoring French, math and science at a Grade 9‑12 or equivalent level.
• Strong English written and oral communication skills.
• Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

• Filling in post‑lesson notes.
• Completing daily student communication updates.

Salary: From $18.00 / hour

Schedule:

• Evenings, Monday to Friday.
