Job summary

The Sooke School District 62 is seeking a permanent part-time (0.5 FTE) Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis located at the School Board Office in Langford, BC. This in-office role reports to the Director of Finance and shares leadership responsibilities for budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis across the district.

Qualifications

• CPA designation in good standing is required.
• Minimum three years recent and related experience in the public sector; preferably in education.
• Experience supervising staff; preferably in a unionized setting.
• Progressively responsible experience in budget development, financial analysis, and preparing reports for Executive.
• Thorough working knowledge of financial software; Atrieve ERP is an asset.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience in public/education sector preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead district budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff within a shared leadership model.
• Collaborate with the Director of Finance and another 0.5 FTE Manager to provide financial planning leadership.
• Contribute to strategic financial decision-making for the District.
