Job summary

Town of Whitby is seeking a Part-time Fitness Programmer to supervise the health club, conduct fitness assessments, and provide personal training with a focus on inclusive service for all patrons. Reporting to the Manager of Fitness and Aquatic Services, the Part-time Fitness Programmer is responsible for:

• health club and program supervision
• fitness assessments
• exercise correction and prescription
• client personal training
• customer service in the health club
• public relations in the recreation centre
• enforcing all established Health Club standards, procedure, protocols with patrons
• performing other duties as may be assigned

What You Bring To Our Team

• A diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Recreation/Fitness Centre Leadership
• certification in CPR/AED (Level C or HCP) and Standard First Aid
• current CSEP-CPT certification (CSEP certification is a REQUIREMENT for this position)
• the ability to communicate orally and in written form in a clear and concise manner
• well-developed interpersonal and public relations skills
• a valid, satisfactory police criminal record check to work with the vulnerable sector

Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. We are seeking Friday - Sunday availability.

Salary Range/Hourly rate: $28.18 - $31.32

Hybrid information: Frontline

Hours: Flex hours, including days, evenings and weekends (maximum of 24 hours per week).
