Seneca Polytechnic invites you to join its dynamic School of Fire Protection Engineering Technology as a part-time professor, delivering Ontario Building Code-focused instruction and real-world application. You will lead classroom learning, evaluate student progress, and mentor future professionals, with contracts up to 6 hours weekly and daytime on-campus availability.

Ideal candidates bring five years of industry experience and CET designation, plus ability to translate complex code concepts

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of industry experience applying building and fire codes.
• Experience reviewing architectural drawings for code compliance.
• Familiarity with Part 3 and Part 9 of the Ontario Building Code.
• Teaching or training experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scheduled instruction using applied and experiential teaching approaches.
• Guide students in interpretation and application of the Ontario Building Code.
• Review architectural drawings and building scenarios for code compliance.
• Support student development in analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Provide academic guidance and mentorship to support success.
• Evaluate progress and assess overall learning outcomes.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative learning environment.
