Job summary

Oxford Learning Sudbury is seeking a part-time elementary teacher/tutor to join our after-school program in Greater Sudbury, Ontario. You will work evenings and Saturdays with up to three students.

Follow Oxford Learning methodologies, complete post-lesson notes and daily student updates, and maintain a friendly, professional demeanor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Fourth year university students with tutoring experience considered.
• Teaching certification is an asset.
• Strong English and French, written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 3 students at a time across varying levels.
• Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Fill in post-lesson notes.
• Complete daily student communication updates.
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Position Requirements

All Teachers at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours Mon - Thurs (3:15pm - 9:15pm) and Saturday 1pm - 5pm. A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Ontario Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring in Ontario, at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English and French, written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
