Job summary

Prairie Valley School Division is seeking an Educational Assistant I for the École Lumsden Elementary School. This temporary 50% position offers hands-on support for students with diverse needs, including personal care, behavioural guidance and academic assistance.

The role requires Grade 12 or equivalent and a willingness to pursue an Educational Assistant certificate or diploma, plus First Aid/CPR/AED and crisis intervention training.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent and related educational support training.
• Completion of or willingness to obtain the Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma.
• First Aid, CPR and AED training, plus specialized training for supporting diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to students to maintain dignity and independence.
• Assist and coach students to develop daily living and academic skills.
• Support learning activities and clarify assignments as directed by teachers.
• Document progress and participate in conferences as requested.
• Promote positive behaviour and collaboration within the learning environment.
• Work with the student team to ensure learning occurs in the least restrictive setting.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the School Administrator.
