Job Skills / Requirements

We are currently accepting applications for Part-Time and Casual Container Terminal and Port Security Officers to join our high-profile security site located in Saint John. This position requires strong social perceptiveness, strong deportment, and impeccable verbal & written communication skills.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will work alongside other port-related and logistics services. Your main duties will include anticipating and addressing inquiries, hazards, obstacles, and traffic concerns, patrolling the facility regularly, ensuring authorized entry to secure areas only, writing detailed incident reports, and complying with the Marine Transportation Security Regulations.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma/GED

• Have prior experience and a valid security license
• Possess a Class 5 License (an asset)
• Have previous or current Port Pass or MTSC Clearance (an asset)

Security officers are subject to thorough background checks and security clearances, in addition to carrying a valid Security License.

Nice to Have:

• Valid Transport Security Clearance or assistance in applying
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, including working under pressure
• Discretion when handling confidential and private information
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
• Must be at least 19 years old and have a high school diploma
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Note: Applicants seeking employment at the terminal must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Security Clearance as per the Marine Transportation Security Clearance Program.

Compensation: $20.00/hour
