Job summary

Pursuit in Canada (Banff) is hiring for a part-time seasonal role in its hospitality team. You will deliver exceptional guest service, guide cocktail and wine selections, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards across the venue.

With at least 1 year of bar experience and Proserve certification, you’ll thrive in a busy restaurant setting, stand for long periods, and flex shifts to meet demand. Starting wage is $17.00/hour, with perks and growth opportunities at Pursuit.

Qualifications

• 1+ year bar experience in a busy restaurant environment.
• Proserve qualifications.
• Able to lift at least 15 pounds.
• Flexible with morning and evening shifts.
• Guest service oriented.

• Able to communicate effectively to all customers.
• Make employee and guest safety a cultural cornerstone to maintain our reputation as an industry leader and guest safety advocate.
• Courteous service to all guests.
• Answer questions when asked about the surroundings/menu.
• Know cocktail & drinks menu extensively and able to guide customers accordingly.
• Use basic wine knowledge to guide customers accordingly – based on food pairing, sweetness levels.
• Execute proper wine service as trained by your Sommelier.
• Know all food items on menu.
• Ensuring that all areas are clean and orderly at all times.
• Ensuring stockrooms and storage are neat and organized at all times.
• Certify and confirm that SOP’s are followed and completed.
• Ensuring proper cash and float security during operating hours.
• Manage your own cash floats on a daily basis.

The starting wage for this role is $17.00/hour.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Basic knowledge on the distilling process of each main spirit group (i.e. vodka, rum, gin, whiskeys )
• Thrives in a fast paced, high energy work environment
• At least 1+ year bar experience with a minimum of 6 months working in a busy restaurant environment
• Guest service oriented
• A positive, ‘go getter’ attitude
• Able to lift at least 15 pounds
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Proserve qualifications
• Flexible with work schedule (morning & evening shifts)
