Job summary

METRO is seeking a Bakery Clerk for a part-time, permanent position in Milton. You will help create an inviting bakery department by ensuring products are fresh, well-stocked, and beautifully displayed. You’ll assist customers with their selections and share your knowledge of breads, pastries, and desserts.

Qualifications

• Prior bakery experience and product knowledge is recommended.
• Able to follow recipes.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Unpack and organize bakery products in the backroom and display areas.
• Stock shelves and counters with fresh baked goods, ensuring proper rotation for freshness.
• Maintain attractive and organized displays for breads, pastries, and specialty items.
• Monitor product quality and remove any items that do not meet standards.
• Assist customers with product selection and provide information on ingredients or preparation.
• Answer customer inquiries and resolve concerns promptly.
• Keep the bakery department clean and sanitized, including work surfaces and equipment.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
• Monitor inventory levels, perform counts, and report discrepancies.
• Ensure accurate labeling and pricing of all bakery products.
• Update signage for promotions, seasonal items, and special offers.
• Reduce and price items as needed.
• Assist with special promotions, events, or projects as assigned by management.
• Collaborate with other departments when necessary.
• Additional duties as assigned by Management.
