Job summary

Metro in Milton is seeking a part-time Bakery Clerk to support daily bakery operations, keeping displays appealing and shelves stocked. You will assist customers with selections and share knowledge of breads, pastries, and desserts.

The role requires flexibility across days, evenings, and weekends. The starting wage is within the union scale at $16.60–$16.70 per hour, with potential above based on experience and knowledge. Prior bakery and customer service experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Unpack and organize bakery products in backroom and display areas.
• Stock shelves and counters with fresh baked goods, ensuring freshness.
• Maintain attractive displays for breads, pastries, and specialty items.
• Monitor product quality and remove items not meeting standards.
• Assist customers with product selection and provide information on ingredients.
• Answer customer inquiries and resolve concerns promptly.
• Keep bakery clean and sanitized, including surfaces and equipment.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Monitor inventory levels, perform counts, report discrepancies.
• Ensure accurate labeling and pricing of bakery products.
• Update signage for promotions, seasonal items, and special offers.
• Reduce and price items as needed.
• Assist with promotions, events, or projects as assigned.
• Collaborate with other departments when necessary.
• Additional duties as assigned by Management.
