At Hot Topic, we’re passionate about music, pop culture, and creating an exceptional in-store experience for our customers and employees.

We’re seeking a Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 2 to help lead the loudest store in the mall. You’ll support the Store Manager in achieving store objectives related to sales targets, recruiting, and team development. Think of yourself as a combination of Harry Potter and Luke Skywalker — capable of handling any challenge while driving sales and fostering lasting customer relationships.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Support your Store Manager in achieving sales and comparable sales goals.
  • Assist in recruiting, developing, and retaining a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
  • Create excitement and engagement through promoting new products, leveraging social media, and utilizing benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup.
  • Provide leadership to ensure the store operates smoothly, balancing operational tasks, delegation, autonomy, and customer-first selling practices.
  • Monitor shrink/loss prevention, payroll hours, and associate schedules.
  • Communicate with retail leadership and HQ about trends and customer feedback.
  • Analyze sales reports and use data to inform strategic decisions to meet sales goals.
  • Merchandise the store compellingly, following planograms and launching promotions on time.
  • Partner with your Store Manager to develop a high-performing, customer-focused team of loyal associates.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • At least 1-2 years of retail management experience; a love for music and pop culture is a plus!
  • Experience leading successful teams and skills in communication, recruiting, operations, and team development.
  • Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, and operations, with a drive to develop your team.
  • A high school diploma or GED; a degree is a bonus.
  • Ability to adapt to the fast-changing retail environment and handle unexpected challenges.
  • Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using store equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
