Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a key contributor to our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an exceptional customer experience, ensuring fellow fans can access their favorite merchandise. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to train new team members and support daily operations and sales goals.

What You'll Do
  1. Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty, showcasing your product knowledge and customer service skills.
  2. Step in and provide leadership support on the sales floor when needed, especially when your Manager is unavailable.
  3. Assist with opening and closing the store as required, demonstrating responsibility and trustworthiness.
  4. Handle sales transactions efficiently, using your fandom knowledge to promote additional benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup, and communicate any register shortages or issues to the Store Manager.
  5. Understand and work towards store sales plans, including key KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
  6. Support visual merchandising efforts, including planogram updates and store layout changes.
  7. Share fashion and music trend insights with management and HQ partners to keep the store current and relevant.
  8. Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
  9. Maintain organized stock rooms and a tidy store environment.
  10. Contribute to building a passionate, collaborative team environment.
  11. Perform any additional activities as assigned by your Store Leader.
What You'll Need
  1. At least 1 year of retail experience; a love for music and pop culture is a plus!
  2. Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and operational skills, with a drive to develop others.
  3. A high school diploma or GED.
  4. Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products, and lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
