Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a key part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an exceptional customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can access the merchandise they love. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to train new recruits and support daily operations and sales targets.

What You'll Do

  1. Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty through your product knowledge, customer service skills, and enthusiasm for fandom.
  2. Step in and support the team when needed, including covering the sales floor and assisting the Manager.
  3. Open and close the store as required, demonstrating trust and responsibility.
  4. Process sales transactions at the register, utilizing your fandom knowledge to promote add-on sales, and communicate shortages or overages to management.
  5. Understand store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
  6. Assist with planogram changes, including store layout, fixtures, and merchandising.
  7. Communicate fashion and music trend information to management and HQ partners.
  8. Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
  9. Maintain organized stock rooms and a tidy store environment.
  10. Contribute to building a collaborative and passionate team environment.
  11. Perform any other activities as assigned by the Store Leader.

What You'll Need

  1. At least 1 year of retail store experience, especially if you love music and pop culture!
  2. Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, and operations, with a drive to develop your team.
  3. A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  4. The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using approved equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
