Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a key part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an excellent customer experience, ensuring fellow fans can access their favorite merchandise. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to train new recruits and support daily operations and sales targets.

What You'll Do

1. Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty through product knowledge and excellent customer service.
2. Step in and support the team on the sales floor and assist the manager when needed.
3. Handle store opening and closing responsibilities as required.
4. Operate the register, process transactions, and promote sales using various benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Communicate shortages or overages to the Store Manager.
5. Understand sales goals, KPIs such as UPT and ADT, and contribute to achieving them.
6. Assist with planogram updates, store layout, and merchandising.
7. Share fashion and music trend insights with management and HQ partners.
8. Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
9. Maintain organized stock rooms and a tidy store environment.
10. Support the development of a passionate, collaborative team to operate the store effectively.
11. Perform any other activities assigned by your Store Leader.

What You'll Need

• At least 1 year of retail experience. A love for music and pop culture is a plus!
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and operational skills, with a drive to develop your team.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products, and lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
