Job summary

The School of Architecture at Dalhousie University invites applications for a Part-Time Academic Instructor position in the Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies (BEDS) Architecture Program. The Instructor will teach one studio section of ARCH 4005: Design with emphasis on sustainable building technologies and urban site integration.

Responsibilities include studio instruction, critiques, student assessment, and delivering at least one lecture.

Qualifications

• M.Arch or equivalent Master’s degree.
• Prior instruction of undergraduate architectural design studios or similar teaching experience.
• Record of scholarly, creative, or professional accomplishment in a relevant field.
• Prior instruction in Comprehensive Design is preferred.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and facilitate student learning.
• Ability to work cooperatively with diverse faculty and student populations.
• Engagement with areas such as architectural design, building systems, sustainability, or urban site integration.

Responsibilities

• Studio instruction for one section of approximately 15 students.
• Conduct design critiques and student assessment.
• Participate in reviews and develop at least one class-wide lecture.
• Attend scheduled course coordination meetings before and during the term.
