Dalhousie University invites applications for a Part-Time Academic Instructor to teach ARCH 1002: Introduction to Architecture 2, a 3-credit undergraduate lecture course.

The course introduces design across scales and explores how architecture, design, art, science, technology, and humanities intersect with social justice and climate challenges. The Instructor will develop content, deliver lectures, and assess students in a collaborative university setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred.
• Prior university-level teaching experience, preferably lecture-based.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work with diverse faculty and student populations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary architecture and design practices.
• Asset areas: interdisciplinary design, climate-responsive design, social equity, digital technologies, design theory.

Responsabilités

• Course planning and lecture delivery for ARCH 1002.
• Development of learning activities and assessments.
• Student evaluation and feedback.
• Coordination with teaching assistants as applicable.
• Fostering critical engagement with design practices and societal context.
