Job Description:
Our TorontoJobs.ca client, located in North York, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to join their team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our organization and may evolve into a full-time role. The successful candidate will primarily focus on assisting with month-end financial statements, bank reporting, budgeting, general ledger accounts, and journal entries.
Responsibilities:
Month-End Financial Statements:
Prepare and analyze month-end financial statements with a high degree of accuracy.
Reconcile accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
Bank Reporting:
Manage bank reporting processes, including reconciling bank statements and monitoring transactions.
Work closely with financial institutions to address any discrepancies.
Budgeting:
Collaborate with the finance team to assist in the budgeting process.
Provide support in creating, maintaining, and monitoring budgets to ensure financial goals are met.
General Ledger Accounts:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Journal Entries:
Record accurate and timely journal entries.
Analyze financial data to identify and rectify discrepancies.
In-Office Work:
Perform all job duties on-site in our North York office.
Collaborate with team members and management to address accounting-related tasks and challenges.
Ad Hoc Tasks:
Assist in various financial projects and tasks as required.
Contribute to process improvements and the overall efficiency of the finance department.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA designation or pursuing CPA is an asset.
Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably in a similar capacity.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
